"I loved that this parenting book was concise and easy to implement in my own life. Practical step by step advice on handling the trickiest parenting seasons. As a mom to a teen and a toddler, I felt like this book was a breath of fresh air!" |
Parisis’s “ Parenting Marathon” is a little treasure packed with fresh, concise, positive approaches to parenting challenges. Even as a total NON-runner, I enjoyed her analogies between training and preparing for a marathon and parenting. Her suggestions are compassionate ( both to children and to their struggling parents), flexible, and creative. I especially enjoyed her suggestions of “ becoming a detective” in looking at your child’s behavior with curiosity and openness, and of journaling their behaviors as well as their responses to your parenting approaches. I liked her focus on looking for positive changes. Moving from “surviving to thriving” in parent-child relationships feels more realistically possible with a friend and parenting coach like Parisi in your toolbox! |
"This book is a fresh look at parenting in 2023. I found the book to be engaging and original. The comparison of parenting to running a marathon is genius. Think about it. Both take preparation; both must be approached one piece at a time; both are challenging -- very challenging; and both are so incredibly rewarding. This book is well written, relatable, and important. Here you will find a simplified approach to the most important job you will have in your lifetime." |
